Once again a Manchester United player has been subject to racial abuse on social media after the club’s defeat to Crystal Palace.

Marcus Rashford was the player this time to be abused online, with the 21-year-old missing a penalty.

Teammate Paul Pogba was also targeted on Monday as he too missed a penalty against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Rashford racially abused on social media after penalty miss

After crashing his spot-kick against the post versus Crystal Palace, racist messages on social media targeted Rashford.

The issue has really been highlighted this season with Pogba and Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham having also having been racially abused.

Twitter has talks planned with United following the abuse suffered by Pogba, according to the Times.

Now, the latest set of abuse aimed at Rashford will only intensify the need for discussions over action being taken.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been left “lost for words” after learning about the abuse his players have suffered.

The Norwegian coach is shocked that racial abuse is still an issue and has called for a resolution to be found.

Anthony Martial injury update after Crystal Palace

Solskjaer has offered a positive update on the injury suffered by Anthony Martial on Saturday.

Next up for the Red Devils is Southampton and they will be keen to have the Frenchman back for then.

Martial finished the game limping, but fortunately for United, it looks to be nothing too serious.

Solskjaer has suggested that the forward could feature in training this week.

Speaking about Martial and Luke Shaw, he said:

“We’ll have to wait and see.

“Hopefully, they won’t be too bad and maybe we can have them training during the week.”
