A fresh pair of insights into Ferran Torres’ imminent move to La Liga giants Barcelona have been provided on Friday.
Xavi’s first addition
The name of Spanish international Torres has of course taken its place front and centre in the European media chatter over the course of the last week.
This comes with the Manchester City star, currently sidelined through injury, primed to depart the Etihad after just 18 months.
His upcoming destination? The aforementioned Barcelona.
As confirmed by a whole host of reliable sources, an agreement has been struck between the respective boards in Manchester and Catalunya, surrounding a deal which will see Torres make the move to the Camp Nou next month.
The €55 million+ transfer, expected to be spread out over multiple financial years, will see the 21-year-old become the first arrival of the Xavi era at Barcelona:

Just when, though, can the Blaugrana faithful expect to actually see Torres donning the club’s colours?
Well, as alluded to above, on Friday, an insight into precisely that has been provided online.
As per a report from Spanish outlet Diario Sport, despite the winter market having not technically even opened yet, Torres will arrive in Barcelona next Monday, the 27th of December, before being unveiled to the club’s fanbase 24 hours later:

A further on the part of Sport, meanwhile, has also delved into how the latest addition to Barca’s frontline is likely to be utilised by new boss Xavi.
It is suggested that Torres, who can of course line out comfortably either on the wing or through the middle, is set to be made use of in a false 9 role in Catalunya, with Xavi having been impressed by the youngster’s efforts in such a role in Manchester.
An Ansu Fati-Ferran Torres-Ousmane Dembele front three? There could well be reason to smile for the suffering Blaugrana faithful yet…
