Roma striker Tammy Abraham has arranged hampers for staff at the Ladywell Unit at ‘s Lewisham Hospital.

Abraham, 24, provided the gifts for the workers of the mental health ward, which included tasty treats and savoury snacks.

Staff at the hospital expressed their delight at receiving them on Friday and took to to praise the former forward for his kind gesture.

Mental health nurse Lucky Ukueku showed off the hampers which featured treats including coffee and biscuits and other snacks on Twitter before sending his gratitude to the England international.

He said: ‘Thank you to Tammy Abraham for the wonderful hamper and extra surprises to the Ladywell Unit, it has really brought the Christmas spirit to Lewisham’.

The Ladywell is a mental health unit based at the University Hospital in Lewisham. It is part of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. 

Abraham replied to the message later on, saying: ‘It’s a pleasure, thank you!’

The former Blues forward joined Roma from Chelsea last summer, and since his move to the Italian capital, the Camberwell-born star has netted four goals in 16 appearances for the Serie A giants.

The England international had previously fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge after Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as manager back in January. 

Chelsea do have a £68million buyback option on their academy graduate, which can be triggered in the summer of 2023.
