Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash, Mauricio Pochettino has commented on the prospect of facing Lionel Messi.

Rather than worrying over finding a solution, Pochettino has urged his players to enjoy the occasion.

Pochettino claims that playing against Messi is something players will tell their grandchildren in years time.

Pochettino said:

“I am not going to try to find a solution. I am going to say to the players: ‘Enjoy playing against Messi’.

“Because you are going to have the opportunity to play against one of the best players in the history of football.

“More than it worrying you, it needs to excite you to play and so you can say.

“This is the type of player that you are going to remember.

“For your ego, it’s a thing that you are going to tell your kids and grandkids.

“It’s difficult to find solutions to try to stop him, I promise you.

“I think it’s impossible. So you must only to enjoy it, be close, help the players that are going to face him.”

Tottenham Hotspur head back to Wembley Stadium for Champions League action having been heavily hit by injuries.

Mauricio Pochettino could be without a number of key players for Wednesday’s group stage game.

However, FC Barcelona make the trip to London without a win in their previous three La Liga outings.

Big question marks loom over manager Ernesto Valverde and another poor result could leave him under huge pressure at the Nou Camp.
